TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Governor of Bank Indonesia Agus Martowardojo estimated that Indonesia’s economic growth in 2016 would reach 5.2 to 5.6 percent.
The growth, Agus said, will be supported by the government’s investment in the first quarter and investment of the private sector in the second quarter. Agus also believed the medium-term growth will be above 6 percent.
"The monetary and fiscal policies are supported by a number of structural reform measures- be in the real sector and financial sector,” he said on Friday.
Agus further said that the government’s policies must be able to address three basic issues: strengthening food and energy security, strengthening national industry competitiveness and and strengthening financial sector as the basic of economic finances.
