BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Targets 22 Million Workers Registered

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Social Security Management Agency's occupational health division (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) announced that it expects 22.1 million workers register at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan by the end of 2016.
Last year, it said that the number of workers registered at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan reached 19 million workers from the total 122.3 million workers in Indonesia.
“We will continue dissemination about BPJS Ketenagakerjaan to reach the target,” said BPJD President Director Agus Susanto in Jakarta on Friday (29/4).
Agus added that BPJS would also continue reminding workers and business entity owners that membership at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is a must.
Based on the 2015 data, the total number of workers in Indonesia reached 122.3 million people, in which 51.4 million people in formal sectors and 70.9 people work in informal sectors.
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan has four benefits, namely: occupational accident benefit ( JKK ), old-age risk benefit ( JHT ), pension benefit and death benefit schemes for all people, including workers, civil servants, police and soldiers nationwide.
