TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia has reiterated that it will continue its commitment to working on Indonesia Deepwater Development (IDD) in the Makassar Strait.
“We expressed the commitment to continue the IDD project in the Makassar Strait and is currently in the process of submitting POD revision,” said Senior Vice President of Chevron Pacific Indonesia Yanto Sianipar to Vice President Jusuf Kalla during his visit to the Vice President office Jalan Merdeka Utara, Central Jakarta, Monday, April 18, 2016.
Yanto said that his company hoped the government could approve the proposal of the development plan as the project is considered strategic for Indonesia, particularly in gas production in the future.
He claimed that Vice President Jusuf Kalla welcomes the commitment of Chevron’s investment plan in Indonesia. On the occasion, Chevron also expressed its appreciation to a number economic stimulus programs, particularly on bureaucracy in licensing permit, which is considered to have improved the investment climate.
“Ease of getting permit is important because Oil and Gas projects take a long time [to complete], 5-7 years. If it could be accelerated, the production could be maintained,” he said.
In addition to giving a report on IDD project continuation, the company also introduced Steve Green, Chevron’s President for Asia Pacific Exploration and Production, who will effectively take office in May 1, 2016.
