TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Five Indonesian top fashion designers, namely Peggy Hartanto, Major Minor, Sean and Sheila, Toton and ByVelvent, will showcase their works at the Fenwick Department Store in London.
The high end department store, founded in 1882 by James Fenwick, will feature Indonesian Fashion Forward themed “Eastern Fashion Comes to the West”, Fenwick Department Store said at Newcastle Upon Tyne on Sunday, April 17, 2016.
For the next two weeks from April 18 to May 2, 2016, the Fenwick Department Store will feature clothing products designed by Indonesian designers. Currently the department store has 11 branches in several cities, such as Colchester.
The program is a result of collaboration between the British Council, the Jakarta Fashion Week, the Centre for Fashion Enterprise London, and the Indonesian Creative Economy Agency, aiming at building creative partnership between Indonesia and the UK. The partnership will be extended to the University of the Arts London, where students will work with a visual team to design and create custom windows to be featured.
Fenwick Department Store said that they were searching for bold and dynamic designers, particularly at the Jakarta Fashion Pop-Up. The five Indonesian designers will be accompanied by a team from the British Council Indonesia.
