TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Industry Minister Saleh Husin said that his office is developing web-based library, citing that it could boost service reliability and management simplicity.
“Library of Industry Ministry has collections which predominantly relate to the field of industry,” Saleh said when opening Kemenperin (Industry Ministry) Book Fair at his office, Tuesday, April 12, 2016.
Saleh said the development is expected to reinforce his agency’s vision and mission, adding that literary collection and scientific reference could support policy studies, researches and industrial development, such as the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), journals, bulletins, handbooks and textbooks.
Industry Ministry is also working closely with the National Library in running the Industry Ministry Library. “The National Library is the parent and governing board of Indonesian libraries in harnessing librarian competence and library management standardization.”
To promote the library, Industry Ministry is holding Kemenperin Book Fair at Industry Ministry building. The event will be held for four days, April 12-16, 2016.
“Other than promoting the Industry Ministry Library, the book fair is expected to bolster [the people's] interest in reading through low-cost and high-quality books available in the expo,” he said.
