Ministry Improves Human Resources, Support Masela Development

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Muhamad Nasir, Research, Technology, and High Education Minister established a special team to organize educational activities in areas arond the Masela block oil and gas industrial complex. "We wanted to prepare human resources for the construction of Masela block," Nasir said on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
Nasir explained that the team will carry out programs to improve human resources quality in an around the Masela block industrial complex, including by introducing new study program in Universitas Pattimura, Ambon. Nasir said that he is planing to open new applied science study programs in the university, such as engineering.
"Social sciences like law and management, are available in all universities. [But not] engineering," Nasir said.
Nasir hoped that with the new study program, the development of the Masela block is expected to involve local residents.
Universitas Pttimura rector Sapteno supported Nasir's plan. Sapteno added that he will meet with Nasir in Jakarta to discuss the plan.
"In addition to discussing the new study program, we will also discuss industril development, [Masela block] construction, and ways to fund the human resources improvement program," Sapteno said.
