TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) Chief Soerjanto Tjahjono said that KNKT Team is still collecting data after a collision between Batik Air 7703 plane of Jakarta-Makassar (HLP-UPG) route and TransNusa plane at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta.
“We have yet to conduct any analysis, therefore, we can’t yet answer why the collision happened,” Soerjanto said at Halim Airport,Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
Soerjanto said his office has collected both planes’ black boxes to download its data. KNKT team would also retrieve data from the airport control tower and officers involved in the operation of the planes. Thereafter, the team would make a transcript of the conversation both at the airport control tower and on the black boxes for investigation.
To this date, the causes of the incident have yet to be revealed. Both planes had been returned to its respective apron and the runway had been cleared off. This morning, Halim Airport can continue to operate.
At 7:55 PM, Batik Air 7703 plane of Jakarta-Makassar (HLP-UPG) route collided with TransNusa plane at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta. The incident occurred when the Batik Air plane was taking off from the airport. Both parties claimed that they have followed the flight procedures. The incident prompted delays to at least five flights.
