TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Although Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) has shown various evidence that the Sumber Waras land purchase is problem-free, the BPK stands its ground on its early findings. Representing the BPK, Raden Yudi Ramdan answered Tempo's questions last week.
What are the core findings over the Sumber Waras case?
Our focus is actually on how the sale itself was planned. The Jakarta government's plan was premature. The governor hurriedly approved the sale when Sumber Waras offered it. That's why our findings said the planning was incomplete and had negative consequences on the entire process. (When the Jakarta government negotiated with Sumber Waras, Ahok was acting governor. Ed).
The audit findings charged the Jakarta government with contravening Presidential Regulation No. 71/2012, which is no longer valid.
When we did the audit, that was the document we found.
Why not apply the new regulation?
Yes, at that time, it was the previous one that was available and became the reference of our auditors' investigation.
What is the major fault in the Sumber Waras land sale?
The Jakarta government was not careful. The location of the Sumber Waras building that they bought is part of Jalan Tomang Utara, so the value is much lower. (*)
