TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama has left a strong message to Organda following fuel price cut on April 1, 2016.
"We have fuel price cut, but transportation tariff is not cut," said Ahok at Jakarta City Hall, on Thursday, March 31, 2016.
Ahok explained that he had decided not to allow private parties handle public transport entirely.
"Win-win solution" offered by the Jakarta City Administration is distance based fee for drivers wanting to join Transjakarta.
DKI government also planned to take over the bus service in the city. "If they want and they have the ability to compete, please do. If they can't, just join rupiah-per-kilometer [system]," he stated.
The fuel price cut will be effective on April 1, 2016, as announced by Energy Minister Sudirman Said.
Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan said after the fuel price adjustment had been set, the Transportation Ministry would send letter to regional government following the transportation tariff cut which would be at around three percent. ANTARA
