TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Government has congratulated Htin Kyaw for his election as new Myanmar president through a democratic election process by Myanmar Parliament, Tuesday, March 15, 2016.
“The presidential election is part of a democratic political transition in Myanmar,” states Indonesian Foreign Ministry to Antara news service,Wednesday.
Myanmar presidential election had been held since parliamentary election on November 8, 2015 as manifestation of hope and aspirations of Myanmar people.
Indonesian Government has reiterated its commitment to continue its support to the country in its bid to carry out continuous reform, democratization and reconciliation.
In addition, Indonesia is also determined to improve ties in a wide range of sectors which have already been established with Myanmar, at bilateral level, ASEAN, and international forum.
Indonesian government consideres that good bilateral relations will bring prosperity for the people of the two countires and contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in the region as well as the world.
