5,000 Visitors Flock to Planetarium to Witness Solar Eclipse

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An event to watch the total solar eclipse together in Jakarta had been held just now. It was held in the city`s Planetarium, Central Jakarta, and it had attracted thousands of visitors.
Sri Yuni, the Planetarium UPT Head, explained that the solar eclipse in Jakarta only occurred partially. However, total solar eclipse did occurred in eastern Indonesia such as Palu, Ternate, Belitung, and Palembang.
“It occurred at 7:21 AM in Jakarta,” she said, Wednesday (3/9).
She estimated that visitors that flocked the Planetarium were around 5,000 people. Special eye-glasses to watch the eclipse were prepared by the management were also ran out.
“Our prediction is about 5,000 people that flocked this place. The solar eclipse ended at 8:30 AM,” she said.
