TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Corrupt Ex-cop, Labora Sitorus, surrendered himself early this morning. “Yes, Labora surrendered. He was pinned down, starving, and possibly out of money,” said Chief of West Papua Police, Brigadier General Royke Lumowa on Monday, March 7, 2016.
Royke added that Labora might have run out of places to go and hide. “We have covered all corners,” he said.
Previously, Labora Sitorus managed to vanish into thin air when the police raided his walled and gated compound. Rumors swirled if Labora had escaped the compound hours before heavily armed police stormed the place, or that he hid in a secret bunker in the compound.
Labora was scheduled to be transferred to Cipinang Penitentiary, after spending most of his jailtime in Sorong not in custody.
Labora Sitorus had been charged with 2-year imprisonment and fine of Rp50 million for committing corruption at the end of 2013.
