TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Norviadi S. Husodo, head of the Jakarta Kota Tua Management Unit, said that the Kota Tua (Old Town) revitalization was expected to be started this year. Norviadi revealed that the project still needed Rp200 billion (US$14.7 million) to be realized.
“The budget needed to renovate Kota Tua is about Rp200 billion. Currently, we’re still looking for companies willing to finance the renovation project,” Norviadi said on Friday, March 4, 2016.
Included in the list of the renovation works are river works, sidewalk development, and parking lots for visitors.
“Everything will be integrated, from river works to sidewalk development. An integrated parking lot will be built from Jalan Cengkeh to Jalan Tongkol,” Norviadi added.
In addition, Norviadi revealed that the renovation project would include relocation and centralization of street vendors.
“We will ensure that project will not against the concept proposed by the Jakarta Old Town Revitalization Corporation, because we are focusing on the infrastructures,” Norviadi explained.
