Shaolin Warriors to Show Off in Jakarta, Bandung in April

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As many as 38 shaolin warriors from Heinan, China, are set to perform in Jakarta and Bandung in April. The performance is entitled ‘Soul of Shaolin’ which is directed by coreographer Liu Tongbiao.

“They will entertain and captivate Indonesian people especially in Jakarta and Bandung in the upcoming April,” said a representative of the promoter Herman Jack in a press conference in Jakarta on Saturday.

The shaolin warriors are coming from shaolin base in Songshan, Heinan and they have often performed in Broadway.

‘Soul of Shaolin’ has won Best Special Theatrical Event and 54th Drama Desk Awards. The stage performance will be presented 14 times in total starting from April 13 to 17 in Jakarta and April 24 in Bandung.

“By being wrapped in theatrical performance, the Soul of Shaolin will be more spectacular, astonishing and charming.”

The 90-minute show was initially performed during the Beijing Art Festival in 2008 Olympic. Hundreds of shaolin skilled warriors are involved in the show.
