TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Transjakarta flyover development project has shown some progress since it was kicked off in early 2015.

The 9.3-kilometer flyover stretches from Jalan Kapten Tandean to Jalan Adam Malik, Ciledug. However, project activities had caused damages on the roads in the area.

At Jalan Kapten Tandean and Jalan Wolter Monginsidi, Purwanti, 28, has to be patient every time she drives to Mampang Prapatan.

“The road is wavy. It’s very uncomfortable,” Purwanti said on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.

Moreover, the street is always congested during rush hours since the road is getting narrower as a result of project activities.

Heru Suwondo, head of roads and bridges division at the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency, said that contractors must repair the damaged roads.

“If there are [road] damages near the project site, that are contractor’s responsibilities,” Heru explained.

He said contractors can fix roads while the project is ongoing.

“To repair the road, the contractor should not wait until the project is completed,” he added.

Heru admitted that the road had been no longer comfortable since the project was started. However, he revealed that one of the roads at Jalan Wolter Monginsidi was being repaired.
