TEMPO.CO, Nusa Dua-Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said projected that the Bali Clean Energy Forum (BCEF) event held in Bali on February 11-12, 2016, would generate cooperation in clean energy development worth US$4 billion.
“There will be marketplace and exhibition in this forum,” Sudirman said when opening the BCEF in Nusa Dua Convention Centre on Thursday, February 11, 2016.
Sudirman added that the business forum was important to accelerate new renewable energy utilization. In addition to generating transactions in form of investments, Sudirman expected that the forum would absorb 18,000 workers.
Ministerial meetings had also been scheduled in this forum to realize the Bali Mission of Clean Energy Development. The government also set to launch the Clean Energy Center of Excellence (CoE) as a center for development, research and facilitation for investments in clean energy.
Bali had been selected as the location for the clean energy pilot project, since it is the most favorite destination for international community. Within the next five years, it is expected that 90 percent of the energy in Bali will come from the new renewable energy.
