TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - M. Taufik Anwar, Head of the Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Mataram Branch, West Nusa Tenggara, expressed his optimism that the bank will be able to disburse Rp 300 billion of micro business credit (KUR) in Mataram and West Lombok by July 2016. "In just one month, KUR disbursement is above average, which is 20 percent," Taufik said in a written statement received by Tempo on Monday, February 8, 2016.
Taufik calculated that as of January 31, 2016, the bank has managed to disburse more than Rp 100 billion worth of KUR to around 5,000 traders. Taufik added that in an attempt to accelerate credit disbursement, BRI had initiated the 'Gerebeg Pasar' (Market Raid) program, where the bank allows credit disbursements on weekends.
During the KUR acceleration event held at BRI’s office in Kebon Roek market, Mataram on Monday, February 8, 2016, Cooperatives and Small Micro Medium Businesses Minister Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga, applauded BRI Mataram branch performance in disbursing KUR. Puspayoga added that the 6.2 percent economic growth recorded by West Nusa Tenggara, can be achieved because of micro-small businesses entrepreneurship program.
Braman Setyo, Deputy of Financing at the Cooperatives and Micro-Small-Medium Enterprises said that if BRI managed to achieve its KUR disbursement target immediately, the bank may receive additional credit disbursement quota. "It means that the number of KUR that can be disbursed by BRI will be increased," Braman said.
