TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - First Inspector M. Syahrir, a police officer in Lampung province, was found dead with a wound in the head.
“It is likely that he committed suicide,” said Head of Information Bureau of the Headquarter of the Indonesian Police Brigadier General Agus Rianto.
Syahrir’s body was found at around 02:55 pm local time in his official house at Jalan Sutoyo on Saturday (6/2).
Syahir was the head of Mobile Division Unit of Lampung Police. The 23-year old man was also Head of Corruption Crime Unit of Lampung Police.
It was alleged that he ended his life because of the gastric disease that could not be healed yet.
Syahrir’s body is scheduled to be buried in his hometown in Medan, North Sumatra.
It was also known that Syahrir was an active social user. His Instagram account has more than 20,000 followers.
