TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Surabaya City Precinct Police have issued a warning that they will ban the “G Night Party” event to be held at a karaoke place in Surabaya on Sunday night, February 7, 2016, due to permit issues.
“To this date, no permit has been applied yet,” Surabaya City Precinct Police spokesperson Comr. Lily Djafar said on Sunday, February 7, 2016.
Lily explained that any event involving a large number of people must be approved by local police.
“We will continue to monitor the situation. If the event is held, we will take a firm action,” Lily added.
Lily explained that police would not necessarily give an approval if the event organizer applies for one.
“Basically, we will approve the event if it doesn’t compromise the security,” Lili said.
G Night Party is an event allegedly to be attended by hundreds of homosexual men. Those who want to participate in the event will be charged with Rp65,000 – Rp75,000 (US$4.7 – US$5.5).
The event, held by the King Entertainment, will promote Health Ministry’s website in collaboration with health community center officers and the Health Ministry and invite all the members of the Gaya Nusantara community (LGBT community).
