TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Operator of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport PT Angkasa Pura II predicted that the number of passengers through the airport during this year’s Chinese New Year would rise by 7.5 percent.

"The peak of the surge is expected to take place on 5 February. It’s around 19.6 percent,” said PT. Angkasar Pura II Senior General Manager of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Major Branch Office Zulfahmi on Saturday (6/2).

Therefore, to anticipate the surge in the number of passengers, Zulfahmi said that PT. Angkasa Pura II has prepared 49 extra flights for domestic flights.

He added that PT. Angkasa Pura II has also prepared 2016 Chinese New Year posts located in front of the VIP Terminal.

The post, he added, serves as the center of coordination among related sides so security, safety and services to all passengers would not be disrupted.

"Especially for security, Soekarno-Hatta international airport is supported by aviation security, the police, and the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI),” Zulfami said.
