Australia Open Increases Hotel Occupancy in Melbourne by 16.3 %

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Global data research company STR announced that room occupancy rate in Melbourne is up by 16.3 percent during the Australia Open 2016.
STR says the increase in room occupancy rate occurred in January 18-31 2016 with the average occupancy rate reaches 90.4 percent and the average daily rate also jumps to 36.3 percent to AU$238.13 or around Rp2.38 million.
"Australia Open has brought new business at the time when they were usually slow," said Matthew Burke, STR Global Business Development Manager for Australia, on Thursday, February 4, 2016.
He said the majority of Australian people take their vacation in January and returned to their daily activities in February. Compared to last year’s Grand Slam tournament, Australia Open gave a huge impact toward the tournament’s host.
