TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Minister Marwan Jafar said that he would allow ex-members of Fajar Nusantara Movement (Gafatar) from Java to participate in transmigration programs with three conditions set by the government.

“They must pledge their allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, Pancasila principles, and they must kiss the red-and-white flag,” Marwan told Tempo in Subang, West Java, on Friday, January 29, 2016.

According to Marwan, the conditions were set because police found that Gafatar had a mission to establish a new country.

“So, before they participate in transmigration programs, they must pledge their allegiance to the motherland,” Marwan added.

Marwan explained that the transmigration program had been well-planned. People who wanted to participate in the programs were welcomed to register at regional transmigration agencies.

Marwan revealed that those who were willing to participate would be provided with a two-hectare land, a house and an allowance of Rp3.5 million (US$253.6) per month.

Marwan said that a total of 122 disadvantaged regencies in Kalimantan, Sumatera, Sulawesi and Papua, which were in need of transmigration programs to boost their developments.
