TEMPO.CO, Tangerang Selatan - The Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) anti-terror squad searched a house of terrorist suspects in South Tangerang on Thursday, January 28, 2016.

The house, located behind the South Tangerang administration office, is owned by an allegedly terrorists, W and J. Over the last six years, the house was also used as an Islamic kindergarten facility.

Local resident Agus Rizal, 40, said that W and J never mingled with their neighbors.

“They are closed people. They never greet their neighbors if they pass by,” he explained.

Agus said that he had never seen suspicious activities in the house. However, W had never opened his helmet visor when he drove motorcycle.

“This is his parent in-law’s house. He stayed here for quite some time,” he added.

According to Agus, W had been arrested for the same case in 2010.

“Two police cars came and arrested him. People here knew that he was involved in a terrorism case,” he said.

Police seized a laptop allegedly containing data on terror attacks in Indonesia, a cellphone and several notes.

“We searched the whole house, and the family’s car,” South Tangerang Precinct Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Ayi Supardan said.

Ayi said that the house was owned by H. Edi Maryoto who passed away several years ago. Now, the house is occupied by Edi’s wife, children and sons in-law.

Ayi revealed that earlier Densus 88 had arrested Edi’s sons in-law, Warsito and Jafar, in Bitung, Tangerang.

“The two men were allegedly involved in the Jakarta bombing and shooting at Sarinah, Jalan M.H. Thamrin, on January 14,” Ayi added.
