TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia and China have planned to craft a cyber-security cooperation program that covers cyber-war simulations, cyber-war responses and mitigations, cyber monitoring, cyber-crisis management, and data center restoration planning.

Muchlis Ahmady, expert staff of the National Cyber Information Defense and Security, said that the cooperation was a part of a knowledge sharing program because cyber-security issues cannot be handled individually.

“The key to a successful cyberspace crisis management is coordination and sharing,” Muchlis said in Jakarta on Saturday, January 23, 2016.

Muchlis revealed that his institution and the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) had held a meeting earlier this week as a pre-MoU in relation to the capacity building of cyberspace human resources.

“Cooperation [with the CAC] in the capacity building covers four sectors,” Muchlis said, adding that one of the sectors is a joint operation.

The second sector is information and communication technology strategy consisting of cyber-security awareness for decision-making purposes and cyber-security in national infrastructure development.

The third one is the capacity building in operation and technicality in six expertise fields, such as digital forensic, information security, network security, cyber-risk management, giant data analysis, and other issues related to cyber-economy.

The last sector is joint researches in cyber-security, particularly in cryptography operating system, cyber law, cyber terrorism, and “counter cyber intelligence”.
