TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Freeport Indonesia spokesperson Riza Pratama said that his company is now looking for a new president director to succeed Maroef Sjamsoeddin who recently announced his resignation.
Riza said that Maroef’s successor could be from Indonesia since Freeport Indonesia has always recruited an Indonesian to fill the post.
“[The replacement] is probably an Indonesian,” Riza said in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
Riza refused to comment on candidates to replace Maroef, explaining that the decision would be taken internally by the company. Riza added that Freeport would select candidates as soon as possible, but Riza could not confirm yet when the successor’s name would be announced.
Riza revealed that the Freeport Indonesia’s leadership is currently held by Robert C. Schroeder, assisted by Freeport McMoran spokesperson Eric Kinneberg.
