TEMPO.CO, Makassar - South Sulawesi Culture and Tourism Service relies on a number of events this year to attract domestic and foreign travelers to visit the region.
Head of Marketing and Promotion of South Sulawesi Culture and Tourism Service Devy Khaddafi said the featured events will include Toraja International Festival, usually held in August, Takabonerate Expedition Island, in November, and Lovely Deember, which will be combined with the International Coffee Barista.
“We are still relying on this event as a mean to promote tourist sites,” Devy said Monday, Jan. 18.
Devy says the International Coffee Barista event will particularly be combined with Lovely December as it is held for the first time.
“The International Coffee Barista is the first event to introduce the potential of Toraja coffee, which has became a commodity,” said Devy.
The Tourism Service target local and foreign participants as it will be graded in creativity from dispensing coffee. This is also a way to promote the product.
Culture Service Secretary of South Sulawesi Service Syarifuddin Rahim said South Sulawesi has a number of annual agendas to be done to attract tourists, outside of Lovely Toraja and Takabonerate.
