TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The recent shootout and bomb incident at Sarinah shopping center, Jakarta, does not affect tourism activity in Yogyakarta.
"There is no decrease in the number of tourist visiting the city," said Secretary of the Association of Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant (PHRI) Deddy Pranawa Eryana on Friday, January 15.
“Everything runs normally,” Deddy said.
Foreign tourists who have scheduled their visit to Yogyakarta today or next week are not canceling their plan.
“It’s entering low season actually, so the tourist visit to Yogyakarta is not as much.”
Meanwhile, the Chief of Public Relation of Yogyakarta Police Resort Office, AKP Partuti Wijayanti said more personnel are deployed for security under instruction of DIY Chief Regional Police.
