TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti said the condition of Jakarta is now safe after the explosions in Sarinah on Thursday. He said people need not to worry and afraid of other threats.

“The situation in Jakarta is now safe. People don’t have to worry and be afraid. Just carry on with your activities as usual,” he said on Friday.

Badrodin said even though the condition is safe, the police are still on standby. The police have also requested assistance from TNI and intelligence.

“We don’t know when and where it might occur again. We’re also conducting early detection on places prone to terrorism,” he said. “This needs cooperation from all parties.”

Badrodin said the police will keep monitoring the situation until an unspecified time. “We will do as best as we can to anticipate,” he said.
