Doll Manufacturing in Bekasi has High Expense

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The cost of doll production in Bekasi is higher than in other regions as wages of the human resource is also higher.

According to the Chairman of Doll Craftsmen and Embroidery Service Association (Hibas) in Bekasi Soleman, the small-medium enterprise (SME) dolls in Bekasi gets new competitor in the local market from other regions. The quality of doll production in Bekasi is quite poor compared to other regions, Tuesday, January 12.

Soleman said several regions including Purwakarta, Bogor and Bandung are starting to develop doll industry. Those cities have set competitive doll prices in market.

To maintain its productions, a number of manufacturers are cooperating with buyers. “Sales can be sustained as we collaborate with buyers,” said Soleman.
