2.5 Million Tourists Visit Bantul

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Cultural and Tourism Department of Bantul, Yogyakarta, recorded 2.58 million travelers from various regions visiting various local tourism objects throughout 2015.

“Bantul has been visited by 2.58 million travelers with a contribution to own-source revenue of Rp11.5 billion along 2015,” Head of Cultural and Tourism Department Bantul Bambang Legowo said in Bantul on Monday, January 4.

Travelers visited seven tourist destinations along the southern beach and two natural tourist attractions in Bantul. Those are the destinations that charge retribution to travelers.

Parangtritis Beach, which famous for its fishes, becomes the most favorite tourist destination with a total visit of 2.05 million people.

“Followed by Baru Beach with 163,000 people, Samas Beach with 140,850 people, Gua dCemara Beach with 95,260 people and Kuwaru Beach with 67,585 people,” said Bambang.

Then the visits to caves include Cerme Cave in Selopamiorp Imogiri and Selarong Cave in Pajangan.

“Thank God, our tourism revenue has been exceeded the Rp10.5 billion target. Until the end of December, Rp11.15 billion revenue has been achieved,” said Bambang.

Meanwhile, tourism retribution withdrawal revenue in the 2016 fiscal year is targeted at Rp11.05 billion or up by Rp500 million from the target set in 2015.

“Previously, the increase in tourism revenue always surpasses Rp1 billion, now it’s only at Rp500 million now,” said Bambang.
