TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Justice and Human Rights Ministry has revoked a decision letter on the Functional Group (Golkar) Executive Board formed during the party’s national congress held by Agung Laksono’s camp in Ancol, as mandated by the Supreme Court’s decision.
Justice and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly said that the Supreme Court had not issued an order to validate the Abu Rizal Bakries’ Golkar Executive Board.
“As mandated by the Supreme Court, I was asked to revoke a decision letter on Agung Laksono’s Golkar Executive Board,” Yasonna told Tempo on Friday, January 1, 2016.
After the decision letter was revoked, Yasonna asked Golkar to settle its internal conflict based on the Party’s articles of association.
Aidir Amin Daud, director general of general law administration at the Justice and Human Rights Ministry said that the decision to revoke the letter was based on a review conducted by the ministry’s team.
“We have reviewed the Supreme Court’s decision, and there is no order to validate [the Golkar Executive Board formed during] the National Congress in Bali,” he said.
Earlier on December 30, 2015, Yasonna officially revoked the decision letter on Agung Laksono’s Golkar Executive Board. Agung Laksono’s camp had pushed Aburizal Bakrie’s camp to hold a joint national congress in January 2016 to form a new executive board. However, Aburizal’s camp insisted that Yasonna should immediately validate their executive board as the government had revoked Agung Laksono’s Golkar executive Board.
