TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Finance Ministry’s Directorate General of Taxation has planned to set online tax payment services.
“[The online tax services] are aimed to provide taxpayers with electronic transaction facilities and to maintain data validity,” Mekar Satria Utama, spokesperson of the Directorate General of Taxation, said on Friday, January 1, 2015.
The online tax payment utilizes an e-Billing system. Taxpayers are required to register at http://sse.pajak.go.id by submitting their tax file numbers (NPWP) and email addresses before filling tax data on the website.
After the registration is completed, taxpayers will be provided with billing codes so that they can submit tax payments at banks, ATMs, MiniATMs, or via internet banking. When a tax payment is completed, a taxpayer will receive a tax receipt that serves as a tax filing paper.
“We hope that more taxpayers would use the e-Billing system,” Mekar said.
Mekar added that the Directorate General of Taxation would assist taxpayers to be familiar with electronic transactions.
