TEMPO.CO, Bengkulu - As many as 18 people of Lebong Tandai Village, North Bengkulu, killed in a landslide occurred Thursday, December 3, at 02.45 local time.
"We have evacuated two dead victims while the rest are still buried," said the head of Lebong Tandai Village Munta Alimun Thursday, Desember 3.
Alimun said there are 20 huts buried. When the lanslide occured, the 18 people were in the hut watching over their Durian garden. There were no survivors as the materials piled up as high as five meters and made it hard to evacuate the victims.
Unit head of Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) in Bengkulu Sudirman said the team was heading to the remote location by walking as the access is damaged.
