TEMPO.CO, Kupang - East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police discovered the circulation of ISIS flag posters in two districts of Alor and South Central Timor.
“So far there are two districts suspicious to be the spreading of ISIS belief,” NTT Regional Police Human Relations Chief Adj. Senior Commissioner Jules Abaraham Abbas told Tempo on Tuesday, December 1.
In Alor, authorities briefly detained three residents in several locations of the region, but have currently been released.
Police are monitoring their movements to anticipate the development of ISIS teachings in the region. “We will continue to monitor them,” said Jules.
In South Central Timor, authorities unveil ISIS symbols in four points that are close to one another, including on the school wall, deker, shop, and on the walls of the village head office. “The symbols have been erased,” he said.
Jules admit he has not apprehend one resident who is allegedly putting up the symbol. Police are still investigating and monitoring the movement in the area; is the symbol was used for the spreading of the belief or if it is used to disrupt the regional election in the area . “No one has been arrested,” said Jules.
