TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Fast boat operator Marina Srikandi opens new route to take passengers from Boom Beach in Banyuwangi to Jimbaran, Bali, starting from November 15. Through this new route, tourists will only need two hours to cross from Banyuwangi to Bali.
“The new route is expected to promote and awaken the tourism in Banyuwangi. The fast boat also connects to other harbors in Benoa, Bali, and Lombok, which will automatically attract foreign tourists to Banyuwangi,” Mulyono Sugito, the owner of Marina Srikandi told Antara on Thursday.
An integrated port, claimed to be the first in Indonesia, will also be built in Boom Beach area. Built by the Banyuwangi Administration and Pelindo III, the port is projected to be able to accommodate 150 yachts.
One way ticket for Marina Srikandi is sold for Rp375,000 and a promotional fare is applied for return ticket purchase. Marina Srikandi also serves trip to Gilitrawangan, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The fast boat can take up to 70 people with two units of safety boats.
Boom Marina Banyuwangi is planned to start operating in 2017 to host the Fremantle to Indonesia Yacht Race and Rally and other upcoming international events.
