TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale rocked Pandeglang regency in Banten province on Saturday (28/11) at 09:47pm, Eko Hadi Santoso, official at the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said.
Eko also said that quake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami and that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at the depth of 75 kilometer to the south east of Pandeglang, Banten. He added that the quake could also be felt in Depok, Bogor, Tangerang and South Jakarta.
He further explained that as of now, his agency had not received any reports on the damage or the casualties due to the quake.
“We do not know yet the latest information from Pandeglang but we will check the locations to see the conditions after the quake,” he said.
