TEMPO.CO, Bogor - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo attended and opened the 2015 National Fruit and Flower Festival (Festival Bunga dan Buah Nusantara/FBBN) 2015 at the campus of Bogor Agriculture Institute (IPB) in Baranangsiang, Bogor.
President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo were present at the campus today at around 10 am.
Previously, IPB Rector Herry Suhardiyanto said that the festival was part of the Orange Revolution aimed at popularizing local flowers and fruits to increase the production and to make it attractive among the people by consuming the flowers and the fruits.
"We design this festival to revive Indonesian agricultural sectors, especially for the commodities of local flowers and fruits,” Herry said.
This event was also supported by Bogor city government, Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Agriculture Ministry, State-owned Enterprises Ministry, Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration, Cooperative and Small and Medium Enterprises Ministry, and Tourism Ministry.
