TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro said that budget deficit this year could reach 2.7 percent and the figure has increased from the target of the 2015 revised State Budget, which is only 1,9 percent.
"The figure 2.7 percent is the worst scenario,” he said.
Bambang estimated that until year-end, the amount of budget absorption would reach 92-93 percent, with the budget deficit of around Rp 200 trillion and if the amount of budget absorption reached 100 percent, the deficit would reach Rp 300 trillion.
"Luckily, the delay in the disbursement of state budget until the end of this year will reduce the deficit,” he added.
Bambang also pledged that the government would change the pattern of budget absorption, which always increases at the end of the year.
He also said that the government also pledged to improve the system of state revenues from taxes to prevent the revenues target from not being met.
Next year, the government sets the target of revenues from taxes of Rp 1.360 trillion, or increases from this year’s target of Rp 1.294 trillion.
To boost revenues, Finance Minister has worked with the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) to trace tax evaders.
