Indonesian-made Helicopter Purchased by More Than 30 Countries

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The EC-725 and EC-225 Dirgantara Indonesia-made helicopters have been used by numerous head of states throughout the globe. Japan is one of the many countries that have purchased the helicopter that is in colloration between PTDI and French-Airbus Helicopter.
Japanese Defense Ministry bought the helicopter back in 2006. One year later, Japan bought another two EC-225 helicopters. The chopper was even used by Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukada and other head of states for the G-8 meeting held in July 2008.
The helicopter could also be used in an emergency situation as a mean of transportation if a natural disaster occurs. In 2008, the chopper was even used to secure bay areas and territorial water boundaries. For this matter, two helicopters are deployed at Kansai International Airport.
The chopper is used by Japan due to its advanced technology and facility offered. As the successor of Super Puma, the helicopter allows to transport numerous passenger at once. It also has a good transport capability, automatic pilot, flight durability, and high security, which made Japan purchased the chopper.
Besides Japan, more than 30 head of states have used the EC-725 and EC-225 helicopters, including French President, Spain President, Turkish President, and South Korean President.
