Indonesian Police Believe Poso Terrorists Linked to ISIS

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Police believe that Poso terrorists led by Santoso Abu Wardah is a part of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Santoso, leader of the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) is believed to have been funded by ISIS.
"Santoso’s cell is funded by ISIS. Look at them, hey have anti-tank weapons," said Head of PR Division at Indonesian Polic, Inspector General Anton Charliyan.
Therefore, Anton believes that Central Sulawesi is the center of ISIS fighters. Other than that, Anton claimed that ISIS radicalism spreads through out Indonesia, namely in South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, East Java, and Lampung.
In order to battle the terrorists, Anton said that the police proceeds with Camar Maleo IV operation in di Poso. The operation aims to take down Santoso’s cell in Indonesia. "It is not easy to breach the terrorist’s den. We are trying," said Anton.
