TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State oil company Pertamina (Persero) is hoping that the collaboration between its gas subsidiary Pertagas and state gas company Perusahaan Gas Nasional (PGN) can begin in January 2016. The joint corporate act is targeted to be done by December 2016.
Pertamina president director Dwi Sutjipto said that until this date the operating activities of Pertagas and PGN have always been separated. "The result is public complaints regarding gas prices," he said.
The operating cooperation will take form in the development of gas infrastructure. Pertagas and PGN will divide work-areas to ensure that each company has its own infrastructure per area, without overlaps.
Pertagas and PGN will also hold dialogues with BPH Migas to recalculate infrastructure fee and investments in gas distributing facilities.
The next step of the collaboration is to allocate operational and maintenance functions to cut costs.
Pertamina also has an ambition to form a PGN-Pertagas joint venture that will focus on building infrastructure—separated from the companies' business functions.
