TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Entrepreneur Rosan Roeslani finally defeated Rachmat Gobel, former Trade Minister, in a battle for the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman periods 2015-20.
Based on the ballot results, Rosan, founder of private equity company Recapital Advisor, managed to secure 102 votes from the total 129 voters, while Rachmat Gobel only gets 27 votes.
“Therefore, the legimate Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry periods 2015-20 is Roslani Roeslani,” meeting chairman Bambang Soesatyo said at Trans Luxury Hotel, Bandung, on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman periods 2010-15 Suryo Bambang Sulistio congratulated Rosan on his new position. Suryo also appreciates Rachmat Gobel’s courage in running for the position.
“The entire administrator and I would like to honor and appreciate you (Gobel) for running for the Chairman seat, which will remain as an asset owned by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” said Suryo.
