TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Metro Jaya Police Department Chief Inspector General Tito Karnavian said he will increase security in the police compound following the threat made through social media towards the department that has gone viral.

“We will definitely increase security in the department, and will also monitor groups in the Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi) area,” Tito said at Metro Jaya Police Department on Monday, November 23.

The threat was made via social media, including Facebook. The 9 minute 34 second duration video claimed to be the voice of Santoso Abu Wardah AsySyarqi Hafidzahullah, who is allegedly a member of a terrorist group. In his speech, Santoso invites society to return to Islam’s right path with Daulah Islamiyah.

The video dubbed “Pesan dari Komandan (Message from the Commander)” also threathened to commit terror towards the Presidential Palace and Metro Jaya Police Department. “The black flag will wave above the Presidential Palace and we will destroy Metro Jaya Police Department!!” said the voice in the video.

Tito claims he is aware of the matter and vows to seek the origin of the video. “We will confirm whether the voice is really his (Santoso). Someone else could have made that video,” said Tito.

The video went viral through Facebook which was uploaded from Muhammad Bahrunnaim Anggih Tamtomo’s account at 10:32am Monday. Until 5pm Monday, the video has had 144 likes, 97 shares and 19 comments.
