TEMPO.CO, Jambi-Berbak National Park in Muarojambi District and East Tanjung Jabung, Jambi province still letting out smoke due to fire.
Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Jambi, Arif Munandar to Antara news agency on Sunday, November 22 said that, although it rained in Berbak area, but there are still smoke because of the burning peatland.
The smoke came from the areas of fire fighting some time ago.
“There are rain in that location, but with only mild to moderate intensity, so it has not been able to extinguish and eliminate smoke in total," said Arif.
Heavy rains, Arif said, is not expected to occur until late November and expected to completely stop the smoke. He said, to get rid of the smoke, they need to continue to with water bombing operations.
BPBD Jambi received an additional three aircraft from BNPB to accelerate the process of eliminating smoke haze.
