TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian wushu athlete Charles Sutanto won another gold for Indonesia in the 13th Wushu World Championship at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Charles achieved world champion title in qianshu after winning a gold medal in the jianshu event last Saturday. "I did not expect to win a gold medal [in qianshu] because my expertise is jianshu," said Charles.
Charles said that he did not aim to win the qianshu event and only did his best for the match. Charles also said that contenders from Japan, Malaysia and Russia were all great athletes.
Although he claimed to be satisfied with the results, the 25-year-old athlete felt that he had not been performing optimally.
Indonesia currently sits on the second place of the current standing with five gold medals, one silver and three bronze.
