TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bambang Sunaryo, the chief of the Land Acquisition team at PT Angkasa Pura II, told Tempo on Sunday, November 8, 2015 that his company would comply with the regulation on land acquisition for public facilities, including the compensation to be given.
Earlier on Friday, November 6, 2015, Angkasa Pura, the central government and the Tangerang Administration approached residents announcing that they would build runway 3 at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The new runway will be built on a 173.13 hectares of land at Rawa Burung, Rawa Rengas, benda and Selapajang in Tangerang.
During the meeting, the residents demanded a compensation of Rp20 million (US$1,428) per meter of land, 500 square meter substitute land per person, and a relocation compensation.
In addition, other residents who did not own a land must be compensated and provided with jobs at the airport.
“The demands are in accordance with Law No.2/2012,” Muhtarif, one of the residents, said.
Bambang said that the demands were not threats for Angkasa Pura to continue the project.
“Residents had expressed similar demands. Therefore, they will be compensated based on the law,” He said.
