100 Yogyakartans to Take Part in German Fest Theatrical Play

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Theater groups Teater Garasi from Yogyakarta and Rimini Protokoll form Berlin, Germany are set to have collaborative performance entitled ‘100% Yogyakarta’ on October 31 and November 1 at Taman Budaya Yogyakarta. It is said that the groups will take 100 Yogyakarta residents to take part in the play.

Asa Rahmana, the publication and media liaison of the event, said the idea of the play is to depict Yogyakarta in statistic figures, a relationship between people that emerges into a kaleidoscope. It also aims to offer fresh perspective on Yogyakarta.

Such theater concept that involves public has been commonly carried out in Berlin, Vienna, Zurich, London, Tokyo and Melbourne. The ‘100% Yogyakarta’ is part of German Season or German Fest, a cultural festival supported by German Embassy in Indonesia to strengthen relationship between two countries.
