TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will receive a state visit from Her Majesty Queen Margarethe II along with His Highness Prince Consort of Denmark at noon today.
Based on the President’s agenda released by the Palace Bureau Press, Jokowi will hold a state welcoming ceremony for Queen Margarethe II at 10:30am. After the official ceremony, a photo session will be held. At 10:50am, both head of states are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting in the National Palace.
Next, Jokowi and Queen Margarethe will sign a MoU (memorandum of understanding). The content of the MoU is still unclear. At 7pm, Jokowi is scheduled to hold a state banquet for Queen Margarethe II and Prince Consort.
Previously, Indonesia Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi said the visit of Queen Margarethe II is to discuss democracy issues and economic cooperation. Both states will also cooperate in the transportation sector. The Queen will be accompanied by 69 officials in her visit, including Denmark Foreign Affairs Minister and Energy Minister.
