TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-PT Honda Prospect Motor, Indonesia's sole agent of Japanese automaker Honda, claimed to have sold 117,849 units of cars from January to September this year. The company also said that it manages to hold a market share of 15.4 percent for the same period.
Honda's achievement is inseparable from the success of car sales during the last two months of the third quarter. Despite the sluggish automotive market, Honda was able to increase its chart sales in September.
"The sales increase in September proves that the Indonesian automotive market still has potential," Honda Prospect Motor's sales and service sales director Jonfis Fandy said on Tuesday, October 13.
"We are optimistic that Honda can continue this positive trend until the end of the year," he added.
In September alone, Honda sold 14,355 units of cars. The brand's top selling models in their respective segments are the HR-V 1.5-liter, Honda Brio, Honda City, and the CR-Z.
