Bond Sale High, Public Purchasing Power Not Low

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Deputy Finance Minister Mardiasmo on Monday, October 12, rejected notions that public purchasing power has gone down and pointed to the high retail sale ORI 12 bonds.
Mardiasmo said ORI 12 was bought by many, including housewives and students, proving that the people have enough cash.
The Government through the Ministry of Finance sells retail bonds, in the form of ORI 12 in the period between September 21 and October 15, 2015. The investment instrument offered from the ORI 12 purchases are coupons or interest at 9 percent per year. Mardiasmo claimed that the ORI 12 sales had exceeded the target. However, he did not mention the sales figures.
The high public interest on ORI 12, said Mardiasmo shows that the government must have good perception. "If the economy is bad then it makes a lot of people panic and withheld all of their funds."
In publishing ORI 12, the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The Ministry of Finance appointed 21 sales agents, including banks and securities agencies.
